About Us

A place where the water reminds you what matters

Wellesley Island State Campground sits on the edge of the St. Lawrence River, where the water stretches wide and the islands multiply into the horizon. For generations, families have come here to trade screens for sunsets, traffic for tranquility, and noise for the gentle lap of water against shore.

This isn't a polished resort. It's something better — it's real. Rustic cabins, campsites shaded by ancient trees, and a pace of life that moves at the speed of a fishing line. Whether you arrive by car or by boat, you'll leave with something you didn't know you were looking for.

Things to Do

Adventure is right here

The St. Lawrence River doesn't do anything halfway. Neither should your vacation.

Kayaking & Boating

Paddle through sheltered coves and open channels. Twenty-seven islands mean twenty-seven different landing spots to discover on your own terms.

Fishing

Smallmouth bass, pike, perch — the St. Lawrence delivers. Cast from the shore or take a boat out. Early mornings are the best.

Hiking Trails

Wooded paths wind through hardwood forests and along rocky shorelines. Every trail ends somewhere worth seeing.

Wildlife Watching

Loons at dusk. Herons at dawn. Eagles circling overhead. This river is one of the most wildlife-rich corridors in the Northeast.

Stargazing

No streetlights. No light pollution. Just the Milky Way reflected on black water. Bring a blanket and stay up late.

Picnicking & BBQ

Designated picnic areas with fire rings and grills. Bring your own food or grab supplies in nearby Orleans. It's your meal, your fire, your evening.
